We are CUPE Local 2544!

The Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 2544 represents approximately 1,500 Custodians, Maintenance Workers and Food Services Group Leaders and Assistants employed by the Peel District School Board.

Local 2544 came into existence on August 20, 1981 and is a democratic Union where the members make the decisions and set the policies.  At all levels it is the rank-and-file members who determine by majority vote what the does.

Our website has won the award for “Best Website Content Updated by a Volunteer” by the Canadian Association of Labour Media in 2013.  We were also a runner-up to CUPE National’s “Best Website” award in 2013.

We continually strive to be a valuable source of labour related content with a focus on CUPE, particularly in Ontario.
